Axchem® Group has a team of highly skilled technicians who have been operating in wastewater treatments for more than 20 years. Our aim is to provide a high level of service and innovative solutions for wastewater treatment plants. As part of this innovation, Axchem has developed the Axchem® DC 55 M booster program for Anaerobic Digesters (AD). The Axchem® DC 55 M program can be carefully tailored to take into account operational variations on the plant and can therefore offer many benefits by stabilising and increasing the performance. This program is based on the application of an optimal formulation, consisting mainly of beneficial microorganisms designed to maximize biogas potential and increase anaerobic system efficiency.
Over many years, several booster programs with Axchem® DC 55 M have used succesfully in the paper industry, achieving excellent results in case of different Up-Set recovery or optimization programs of the anaerobic plants. Industrial know-how and experience demonstrates that the Axchem® DC 55 M booster program leads to benefits such as granular anaerobic sludge robustness; a large reduction in the frequency of pellet loss; overall biogas production; CH4 and H2S content; final water quality; decrease in final COD content; increase in the COD break down efficiency.
Innovation and quality are at the heart of what we do
Axchem® Group is glad to share one of its case-studies: a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) treat about 8000 m3/day of wastewater with a COD of about 4000 ppm. The WWTP consists of an Anaerobic (1700 x2 m3) and Aerobic (5000 m3) treatment section placed in series. In March 2023 the AD was working in stable conditions and with good performance, while in April the performance worsened due to poor conversion of fatty acids (VFA). AXCHEM specialists proposed to the paper mill staff to carry out a 30 day cycle under the Axchem® DC 55 M booster program in order to restore the performance of the AD, so the booster program was carried out in May. Below is possible see a table summarizing the main operating parameters with the monthly average values. The first column of the table shows the data process of March 2023 while the AD was working under its usual stability state, while the second column shows the data process of the AD when it entered an up-set condition. Finally, the last column shows the data process of June after about 60 days under Axchem® DC 55 M booster program. After the program application, the full functionality of the AD was recovered. Furthermore, the quality of the biogas produced was excellent with approximately 73% CH4 and less than 4000 ppm of H2S. Thanks to the excellent results obtained, the paper mill has released an e-mail as a reference confirming their satisfaction and results achieved.
