The paper manufacturing group, best known in Italy and Europe for its Regina brand,\u00a0has acquired from\u00a0ST Paper a paper mill in Duluth, in Minnesota,\u00a0in the Upper Midwest.<\/p>\n<p>The plant has a production capacity of 65 thousand metric tons per year and has eighty employees. It will enable the Group to immediately meet the ongoing increase in demand in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The technology is advanced, the machine, an Andritz,\u00a0was started\u00a0up last January and is highly efficient and fully operational.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an important acquisition, allowing us to immediately meet the growing demand, which saw a significant upturn in 2023. What we are acquiring is a\u00a0technologically advanced plant\u00a0that further improves our geographic coverage and creates the conditions to strengthen and sustain growth in what is our main market\u201d said\u00a0<strong>Luigi Lazzareschi,\u00a0Sofidel CEO<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The new investment comes\u00a0a few\u00a0months after Sofidel made an organic growth investment\u00a0to\u00a0expand its integrated plant in Circleville, Ohio. The project, which has already\u00a0been launched, involves the construction of a new building to house a\u00a0new machine\u00a0(with a production capacity of 70,000 metric tons per year), which is scheduled to come into operation in the third quarter of 2025.
